Fidelity Bank Employees Participate in Movember Fund-Razor to Benefit Westborough based 15-40 Connection

Fidelity Bank employees held what they called a “Movember Fund-Razor” to show their caring hearts to help a worthy Westborough cancer prevention organization. The Leominster based community bank donated $2,000 raised during Movember to the nonprofit 15-40 Connection, which is focused on educating and empowering people about early cancer detection.  It is the third year in a row that Fidelity Bank has donated its Movember proceeds to the organization.

Movember is an annual event, which encourages men to grow facial hair, such as moustaches or beards, during the month of November to raise awareness and raise money for men’s health issues, such as prostate cancer and testicular cancer. This year instead of paying employees not to shave, Fidelity Bank raised money through an event called a “Movember Fund-Razor” where employees voted on which bearded employees they wanted to see shave their facial hair. Fidelity Bank also raised money for the cause through a Jeans Day where employees paid $5 for the right to wear jeans to work on a Friday.

The donation is part of Fidelity Bank’s LifeDesign Community Dividend, which is money Fidelity Bank disperses throughout the year to improve the quality of life of communities through supporting local organizations. In 2017, Fidelity bank donated more than $350,000 to more than 100 worthy community organizations through the LifeDesign Community Dividend.
