Fidelity Bank, a community bank headquartered in Leominster with 12 full-service offices in central Massachusetts including Worcester and Fitchburg, was named one of the 2019 Boston Globe Top Places to Work. The Globe chose the honorees for the 12th annual award through evaluating employee surveys covering a variety of categories including the company’s direction, leadership, pay, benefits, and engagement. Fidelity Bank was one of 125 companies chosen over four size categories.

“We are grateful to our employees for this incredible vote of confidence. They are our greatest asset.” says Fidelity Bank Chairman and CEO Edward F. Manzi, Jr. “We remain committed as ever to our LifeDesign promise of being a team of caring people, who take a caring approach, to provide caring solutions for our colleagues, clients and community.”   It is the fifth time Fidelity Bank has received this honor from the newspaper.

The LifeDesign promise is shown in several employee initiatives including the LifeDesign Employee Emergency Payroll Advance, the LifeDesign University program that helps employees from multiple departments develop the skills necessary to advance their careers, and the annual All Hearts awards and weekly High Fives given out to recognize employees who personify the bank’s values. In 2020, the bank is starting a new program that gives each employee an extra paid day off to celebrate their birthday.

Another major example of Fidelity Bank’s LifeDesign promise is the LifeDesign Community Dividend, which donated more than $400,000 to local organizations, causes and events in 2018 alone. The bank is expanding its “Casual for a Cause” Friday jeans program from 26 weeks a year to the entire year to raise funding for additional causes important to all of the local communities the bank serves.
