Fidelity Bank joins Bank On Collaborative – Effort working to assist unbanked throughout Worcester & Southbridge

Fidelity Bank and Berkshire Bank have joined Bay State Savings Bank, Commerce Bank, Cornerstone Bank, DCU and UniBank in offering the official Bank On Worcester County product. Bank On Worcester County seeks solutions to increase access and decrease barriers to banking through the development of safe and affordable products and options, as well as financial education opportunities to meet the needs of individuals and families in Worcester and Southbridge.

The Bank On Worcester County Product includes (but is not limited to) the following features:

  • Low minimum opening deposit ($25 or less)
  • No inactivity fees
  • Low overdraft fees ($5)
  • Online and Mobile Banking
  • Low monthly maintence fees
  • Ability to open account if ChexSystem balance is $250 or less (except in instances of fraud)

The account is available to individuals without a current checking account who obtain a referral card issued by a local community agency. Individuals may also request a Bank On referral card at www.bankonworcestercounty.org.

Officially launched in June 2018, Bank On Worcester County is a creative approach to addressing poverty as a community health concern, resulting in a unified partnership of local government, non-profit organizations, and banking institutions focused on increasing financial stability for low-to-moderate-income families.
