Online Security Education: Protecting Your Personal Data

October 18, 2018

Fake web sites, also known as spoof sites and “pharming” have been on the rise. Pharming is when a web site’s visitors are redirected to a fake lookalike site, where either malicious software will be installed on visitors’ computers, or the site will gather (or pharm) personal data such as online banking passwords, personal data, or financial details.

We encourage you to stay diligent as you use the convenience of online banking at Fidelity Bank or other sites where you enter in login credentials.

When you login to online banking, make sure to check the following:

  • The web address should always be

  • Before the web address, ensure it has https://. The “s” in https, stands for secure and is important to watch for

  • If you have reached our web site through an email or web site banner or pop-up that you believe may be fraudulent, close out of your browser immediately. You can always open up a new window and type into your address bar to reach our web site.

Fidelity Bank will never ask for personal information via email
Fidelity will never ask you for any personal details through emails, pop-up windows or web site banners. If you were to receive an email or other electronic communication asking for account information, personal data, or online banking login credentials, please reach out to us immediately.
